Looking On The Bright Side of Labels

What are Guitar Effects Pedals?

There are many guitar enthusiasts today who have that great ambition to sound like their favorite band. And there are many who get frustrated by the fact that they can play all of the bands famous songs but they fail to sound like them at all. Guitar effects can now be achieved using guitar effects pedals which can help you copy the sounds that your favorite band produces. Perhaps you have heard about these but have not tried getting one for yourself. Having a guitar effects pedal is the best way to produce sounds that can copy your favorite band sounds. The individual effect pedal can produce a single sound out of a thousand different sounds. Choosing the right individual effect pedal involves knowing the kind of sound that you want.

So what you can do is to visit your local music store and try out different effect pedals so that you can hear the sounds for yourself. One type of pedal is the distortion pedal and is ideal for punk, blues overdrive, metal, grunge, and others. Activate the sound effect only needs a step on the pedal once while you are playing your guitar. You turn on the sound by steeping once, and you need to step on the pedal again to turn it off. You can only find the sound that you like by trying the different pedals. All pedals are activated by stepping on it once and it is stopped by stepping on the pedal again. The digital delay effect is another pedal that produces a low repetition of the last note played. The chorus effect provides a smooth element to one’s clean channel. Activating and stopping the pedal follows the same operation.

Some pedals, however, are used differently. There are wah pedals that are used by first stepping all the way down the pedal to activate the switch and then gently rocked back and forth to produce the “wah” effect. There are also volume pedals that you rock pack and forth to increase or decrease the volume gradually. The whammy pedal is also rocked back and forth and it simulates the use of a whammy bar for electric guitars. This is for those whose guitars don’t come equipped with them or who don’t want to use them.

Multi-effects pedals are also available in music stores. This is a single pedal that provides many different effects. It is expensive because you get many effects but economical because you only need to buy one unit. Distortion pedal, single tap action, rocking pedal for wah, volume, and whammy effects can be found in a single multi-effect pedal. If you want quality sound, however, choose individual pedal over multi-effete pedals because they have better quality sound.
